# Magellan Jets Names Indian American Tech Executive Nishaat Vasi Chief Product Officer
Magellan Jets has appointed Indian American technology executive Nishaat Vasi as its new Chief Product Officer, bringing an extensive background in product development, technology strategy, artificial intelligence and business intelligence to the private aviation company.
In his new role, Vasi will focus on strengthening Magellan Jets’ product strategy and supporting the company’s growth through technology-driven innovation and a client-focused approach.
The appointment comes as the private aviation provider looks to expand the use of AI and advanced technology across its operations while maintaining a strong emphasis on personalized service.
Magellan Jets Founder and CEO Joshua Marc Hebert said technology can help transform how companies operate without eliminating the importance of human expertise and relationships.
He said the company intends to use AI to streamline behind-the-scenes processes, allowing its employees to devote more time and attention to private clients.
Hebert also said Vasi’s leadership would help strengthen the company’s team expertise and client relationships while contributing to a more intuitive and seamless customer experience.
Vasi joins Magellan Jets after serving as Chief Product Officer at Zipcar, where he was responsible for technology strategy and investments across the mobility company’s complex operational platform.
His experience at Zipcar included overseeing product-related initiatives in an environment that required technology to work closely with large-scale operations and customer needs.
Before joining Zipcar, Vasi held product and leadership positions at companies including Flexcar, TripAdvisor and MathWorks.
Across those roles, he worked on consumer products, partner integrations and platforms designed to improve customer engagement.
His professional experience also includes work involving loyalty programs, pricing strategies and technology platforms, giving him exposure to multiple aspects of digital product development.
Vasi brings more than 18 years of experience in technology and product leadership to his new position at Magellan Jets.
His academic background began in India, where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in wireless communications from D.J. Sanghvi College of Engineering in Mumbai.
He later moved to the United States and earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
His graduate thesis focused on wireless sensor networks, an area closely connected to communications technology and connected systems.
Vasi also completed coursework in Strategic Marketing Management through Harvard Extension School, adding a business and customer-focused dimension to his technical background.
His appointment comes as Magellan Jets implements a broader growth strategy announced earlier in 2026.
In June, the company expanded the leadership responsibilities of industry executives Matthew Harris, Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, and Josh Lesnick, Chief Operating Officer.
Those leadership changes were designed to support the company’s acquisition strategy and expansion of its private aviation platform.
Vasi’s addition to the executive team adds a product and technology-focused component to that broader strategy.
The company is increasingly positioning technology and data as tools for improving the private aviation customer experience while supporting operational efficiency.
AI and business intelligence are expected to play an important role in that effort, particularly as companies across the travel and transportation industries invest in automation and data-driven decision-making.
For Magellan Jets, the focus remains on combining technology with the expertise of its people rather than treating automation as a replacement for personalized service.
Based in Quincy, Massachusetts, Magellan Jets provides private aviation services to clients traveling across international destinations.
The company says it has flown private clients to more than 100 countries.
Magellan Jets has also received recognition from publications and organizations including Inc. 5000, Robb Report and Modern Luxury.
With Vasi joining its leadership team, Magellan Jets is adding an executive with experience spanning mobility, travel, consumer technology and software to help shape its next phase of product development.
His appointment reflects the company's effort to use emerging technologies while continuing to build its private aviation business around client relationships and service.
