Hundreds of NYC restaurants are offering $26 dining deals during FIFA World Cup 2026
May 28, 2026
📍 Philadelphia, PA, USA
⚽🍔 New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has unveiled a major World Cup-themed affordability initiative that will allow residents and visitors to enjoy special $26 food and drink deals at hundreds of restaurants across all five boroughs during the 2026 FIFA World Cup celebrations.
The program will run from June 11 through July 19 and is designed to promote local businesses while celebrating New York City’s cultural diversity during one of the world’s biggest sporting events. Nearly 300 restaurants have already joined the initiative, including popular spots representing cuisines from around the globe such as Korean, Tunisian, Italian, barbecue, comfort food, and more. Organizers say the full restaurant list will be released closer to the tournament kickoff.
Mamdani described the initiative as both an economic and cultural celebration, highlighting neighborhoods from Harlem’s Little Senegal to Brooklyn’s Little Odessa as examples of the city’s multicultural identity. Special World Cup-themed collectible cups designed for each borough will also be offered at participating restaurants.
The restaurant campaign is part of a broader FIFA 2026 strategy by the city that also includes neighborhood passport programs, tourism promotions, and discounted World Cup ticket access for New York residents. Earlier, Mamdani announced that 1,000 tickets priced at $50 each would be made available through a lottery system for select World Cup matches at MetLife Stadium, including games featuring Brazil, France, Germany, England, and Senegal.
The city hopes the combined initiatives will boost tourism, support small businesses, and make the World Cup experience more affordable and accessible for everyday New Yorkers as global attention turns toward the region during FIFA 2026. 🌍🏆
